The Chicago Bulls may have made a lot of roster changes over the previous week, but one player on the roster is being recognized during the NBA All-Star Weekend. While he has not been on the court for much of the season with the team, he has been named as an injury replacement for one of the events taking place during the weekend. Let’s take a closer look at who it is and what led them to joining the festivities.
Mac McClung is named as the replacement player for the 2026 Rising Stars Game

It was announced that Chicago guard Mac McClung will be replacing San Antonio Spurs forward David Jones Garcia for Team Austin in the 2026 Rising Stars Game. He has played once off the bench since signing with the Bulls earlier this week on a two-way contract, playing 13 minutes and recording four points, one rebound, one assist, and one steal. McClung spent a majority of the season in the G League, but could be able to get some more action with all of the team’s moves ahead of the NBA trade deadline.
He will be joining the following players as part of Team Austin, who is filled with all G League players:
- Sean East II (Salt Lake City Stars)
- Ron Harper Jr (Maine Celtics)
- Yanic Konan Niederhauser (San Diego Clippers)
- Alijah Martin (Raptors 905)
- Tristen Newton (Rio Grande Valley Vipers)
- Yang Hansen (Rip City Remix)
There will be four in this mini-tournament wth the game going to 40 points in the first round, and the championship round will be the first to 25. This will be taking place on Friday, Feb. 13 at 9 pm ET to kick off NBA All-Star Weekend. It will be intriguing to see how McClung looks as he is being highlighted for this matchup.
