Spencer Knight has been on fire to start the season for the Chicago Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks sit third in the Central Division early this season, with a 3-2-2 record and eight points.

The Blackhawks’ latest win against the Anaheim Ducks can be attributed to their goalie, Spencer Knight. Knight is proving to be a core player for the Hawks and someone who can be counted on to block any shot.

Knight has been money between the posts to start this season for the Blackhawks, having a save percentage of .937% and a 1.96 goals-against average, per Bleacher Report Open Ice. This is an improvement from last season, where Knight allowed 3.18 GAA and had a .896% save percentage in 15 games, after he was traded over from the Stanley Cup Winners, the Florida Panthers.

His 1.96 GAA is eighth in the NHL, while his .937% save percentage puts him in the top five.

Signed through the 2029 season and only 24 years old, Knight has a bright future ahead of him with the Blackhawks, as he, and Conner Bedard are forming a nucleus of a future contender for the Stanley Cup.

Coming off a solid 2-1 overtime win against the Ducks, where Knight made 38 saves, with the only goal coming on a power-play with 35.8 seconds left in the third period, the Blackhawks are in a good position moving forward when they play the Tampa Bay Lightning, who are riding a three-game losing streak.
