MLB’s Scott Merkin talked with Teel<\/a> ahead of the White Sox’s home opener. Teel provided a bit of an update regarding his status and how he is feeling better as time goes on.<\/p>\n

“I feel much better this week, honestly. It’s going well. I would say that like I still don’t know exactly when on the timeline I’ll be back. From the way I’ve been feeling, it’s been a steady incline. From what everyone who has hamstring injuries tell me, there’s going to be a day where it just feels really really good. That’s when you make that big jump. I feel like I’m coming up on that day really soon. I love playing so it’s tough. But everything happens for a reason so going day by day.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Teel suffered a hamstring injury<\/a> in pool play for Team Italy during the World Baseball Classic on March 11. He was projected to have a 4-to-6 week recovery timeline, and we are approaching the four-week mark.\u00a0 Chicago is hoping to have him back soon to continue his progression in the majors. Teel only played in 78 games last season and had a .273\/.375\/.411 slash line with eight homers, 35 RBI, and 38 runs scored while being an excellent catcher.<\/p>\n
