Caitlin Clark has been itching to get back out on the court for the Indiana Fever. The 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year played only 13 games last season due to recurring injuries. Despite that, she still averaged 16.5 points and 8.8 assists \u2014 and was also named a WNBA All-Star.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Fever also won the 2025 WNBA Commissioner\u2019s Cup for the first time in franchise history. Unfortunately, Indiana lost to the Las Vegas Aces in the 2025 WNBA playoffs’ semifinals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For Clark, the goal is to bounce back and lead Indiana to the promised land this 2026 season.<\/span><\/p>\n

After an eventful offseason, Clark is now primed to get back on the court and lead the Fever in 2026.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Clark was named <\/span>tournament MVP<\/span><\/a> in the recently concluded FIBA Women\u2019s World Cup Qualifiers in Puerto Rico. She had a great outing for Team USA despite not playing organized basketball since July 2025. On top of that, Clark was in the top five in scoring, and she also led the whole tournament in assists.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite her time away from the basketball court, Clark still proved to be a key piece for their squad. She averaged 11.6 points and 6.4 assists while shooting 40% from the three and 52.9% from the field.<\/span><\/p>\n

Caitlin Clark sets 2026 WNBA season goal for the Indiana Fever<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Fever star joined the broadcast for the New York Knicks vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder <\/span>game on NBC Sports<\/span><\/a>. During the broadcast, she shared her plans for the upcoming season and with the Fever.<\/span><\/p>\n

Clark made a bold declaration about Indiana’s title hopes in 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, we were trying to win it all last year, that\u2019s certainly what we\u2019re trying to do this year,\u201d she stated.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The two-time WNBA All-Star also opened up about their roster challenges for the upcoming campaign.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a very unique situation. I think there\u2019s over a hundred players in the league that are free agents,\u201d she said. \u201cSo we really only know about five people, or three people that are going to be on our team next year. But I feel like we have a great core.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Iowa native also talked about their goals for the new WNBA season.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSo there\u2019s nothing like playing for the Fever, I think we\u2019re going to be the favorite to win it all,\u201d Clark declared<\/a>. \u201cAdds a little pressure, but that\u2019s what you love about it. We got a great squad, a great coach, great support staff, so it\u2019s super-exciting.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Clark is looking forward to getting back on the court and hopes to finally lead the Fever to a championship. Indiana last won a WNBA title in 2012, so Clark looks to end the 14-year drought.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
