The Chicago Blackhawks<\/a> were once again sellers at the NHL Trade Deadline on Friday afternoon. Their final move included moving captain Nick Foligno to Minnesota, reuniting him with his brother and sending him to a contender.<\/p>\n

With Chicago’s rebuild still on going, eventually the team needs positive results. They already have a star in Connor Bedard who they took No. 1 overall a few years ago and building around him remains the focus.<\/p>\n

But what is Bedard’s future in Chicago? One NHL insider had great news regarding his status with a long-term extension.<\/p>\n

During an appearance on CHSN on Thursday, insider Frank Seravalli was asked about Bedard’s future in Chicago<\/a>. He brought up an extension, telling the hosts that Bedard is here for the long haul.<\/p>\n

“Look, I think everyone wants to snap their fingers and make it happen. This has been a lengthy, methodical and patient rebuild. Everyone wants to see the Blackhawks take that next step forward, most important Connor Bedard. But he’s in lock step with the Blackhawks organization in terms of that plan. . . He will be signing a long-term extension at some point this Summer or offseason. The question is for how much? That’s really all that’s left for the Blackhawks and Bedard to figure out. Because he’s in the for the long haul. He gets it. He sees the plan coming together.”<\/p>\n
