Despite having a great offseason in which the Chicago White Sox<\/span><\/a> signed Japanese slugger Munetaka Murakami (two years, $34 million), they still needed to add another starting pitcher. The White Sox ranked dead last in baseball in innings pitched by their starters (758.2 innings<\/span><\/a>). <\/span><\/p>\n

The White Sox have options to fill out their rotation, but added some more depth, with New York Post columnist and MLB Insider Joel Sherman reporting right-hander Erick Fedde is finalizing a one-year deal with the White Sox. <\/span><\/p>\n

Fedde, who will be 33 when the season starts, was with the White Sox to start the 2024 season and was a part of a three-team trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals, where Fedde went to St. Louis.<\/span><\/p>\n
