The NHL has once again recognized Connor Bedard’s incredible play, naming the Chicago Blackhawks superstar center as the Second Star of the Week for the period of November 3–9. The 20-year-old phenom continued his outstanding start to the 2025–26 season by posting 10 points (3 goals, 7 assists) in just four games, helping lift Chicago into third place in the Central Division.

Bedard’s explosive week not only highlighted his growing dominance in the league but also showed why he’s quickly becoming one of the most consistent offensive forces in hockey. His blend of skill, poise, and leadership continues to define the Blackhawks’ resurgence, reminding fans across the league that a new generation of NHL greatness has officially arrived.

Connor Bedard has already set the bar high in his young career, but his recent stretch of games demonstrated that he’s evolving into an even more complete player. According to the NHL’s release, Bedard ranked second in the league in scoring for the week with 3 goals and 7 assists across four appearances, a performance that powered Chicago to three crucial wins.

He kicked off the week by assisting on the Blackhawks’ only goal in a 3–1 loss to the Seattle Kraken on November 3. Bedard then followed that up with a 1 goal, 1 assist performance in a 5–2 victory over his hometown team, the Vancouver Canucks, on November 5 — a game that held extra emotional weight for the young star.

Two nights later, Bedard was at his absolute best. In a commanding 4–0 win over the Calgary Flames, he recorded 1 goal and 3 assists — his fourth career four-point game — solidifying his reputation as one of the league’s most dangerous offensive players. At just 20 years and 113 days old, Bedard became the 11th-youngest player in NHL history to reach 150 career points, joining a historic list topped by Sidney Crosby, who reached the milestone at 19 years and 130 days.

Bedard capped off the week with another standout showing in a 5–1 win over the Detroit Red Wings on November 9, notching 1 goal and 2 assists to extend his point streak to eight games, dating back to October 26. During that stretch, he has tallied 18 points (7 goals, 11 assists) — just one game shy of matching his career-best nine-game streak from last season.

These performances not only earned him NHL honors but also cemented his place among the league’s elite. Through 16 games this season, Bedard ranks third in the NHL in scoring with 25 points (9 goals, 16 assists). He also sits among the league leaders in assists (tied for 3rd with 16), even-strength points (tied for 4th with 17), and even-strength assists (5th with 11).

A star who keeps shining brighter for Chicago

Ever since being drafted No. 1 overall in the 2023 NHL Draft, Connor Bedard has lived up to every ounce of the hype surrounding him. As the 2023–24 Calder Memorial Trophy winner, he’s become the face of the Chicago Blackhawks’ rebuild and a player capable of turning every game into a highlight reel.

His recent surge isn’t just about points — it’s about leadership. Bedard’s ability to elevate his teammates has been one of the biggest differences for the Blackhawks this season. Whether setting up scoring chances with pinpoint passes or taking charge in key moments, his confidence has transformed Chicago’s offense into a far more dynamic unit.

The chemistry Bedard has developed with forwards like Frank Nazar and Taylor Raddysh has also been critical. Together, they’ve provided balance, creativity, and energy that keeps opponents on their heels. Chicago’s recent climb to third place in the Central Division is a reflection of that growing team cohesion — with Bedard at the heart of it all.

Off the ice, his composure and maturity continue to draw praise from coaches and veterans alike. Despite the pressure of being labeled the NHL’s next superstar, Bedard has remained focused, humble, and driven to keep improving.

The young forward’s success this season has fans dreaming about what lies ahead. If his current form continues, Bedard could find himself not just in the weekly stars conversation but also in the Hart Trophy race before the season’s end.

The future looks bright

With Connor Bedard leading the charge, the Chicago Blackhawks are showing clear signs of growth and stability. His recognition as the Second Star of the Week is another milestone in what’s shaping up to be a breakout season — not just for him, but for the entire franchise.

Bedard’s skill, consistency, and determination have reignited excitement in Chicago hockey, and if this week was any indication, his star is only going to shine brighter as the season unfolds.
