On Friday, the Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard earned two assists, but it wasn’t enough to earn a win.
(Saturday night update): Bedard’s update is even worse amid MRI results
The Blackhawks fell 3-2 to the St. Louis Blues in front of 18,096 fans at the Enterprise Center.
The defeat wasn’t the only bad news.

Bedard appeared shaken up at the end of the contest. He fell to the ice as time expired in the third period and favored his right shoulder as he got up. He immediately left for the locker room.

Per Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times, Blackhawks head coach Jeff Blashill called the injury a “freak accident.”
“I think it’s a freak accident, to be honest with you,” Blashill said.
Bad news on Connor Bedard

Blashill had more bad news to offer on Bedard, confirming the star center would not play on Saturday at home against the Detroit Red Wings. It’s unclear if Bedard will make the three-game road trip in Canada next week to play the Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, and Ottawa Senators.
Blashill hopes to provide an update by Monday.
