Rumors about Giannis Antetokounmpo’s potential trade destination continue to swirl. While most speculation points to the Knicks, the Chicago Bulls are still in the conversation. Reports suggest the Bulls were even offered a chance to acquire Giannis in a trade but ultimately passed on the opportunity. According to sources, head coach Billy Donovan has not seen any official proposal regarding the star forward.
Billy Donovan commented on report the Bulls weren’t interested in Giannis Antetokounmpo by saying the front office “always” comes to him with trade conversations/offers when they’re “real.”

Billy Donovan addressed the reports through Bulls insider Cody Westerlund, stating that the front office “always” brings him trade discussions or offers when they are “real.” In this case, the team never communicated anything regarding Giannis Antetokounmpo one way or the other.
The Bulls sit at 9-13 this season, reeling from a six-game losing streak capped by a loss to the struggling Indiana Pacers, while several key players have battled injuries.

Meanwhile, Giannis Antetokounmpo is putting up 28.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game, and the Bucks hold a 10-13 record in 10th place in the Eastern Conference, just ahead of Chicago in 11th.
Giannis remains under contract with the Bucks through the 2026-2027 season and holds a substantial player option for 2027. However, with Milwaukee struggling in recent years, he could be considering other options.
The Greek Freak has yet to officially request a trade. The rumors connecting him to the Bulls stem from FOX Chicago broadcaster Lou Canellis, who is said to have business ties with the star. On the radio, Canellis revealed that Giannis had indicated interest in Chicago as a possible landing spot.

The Bulls passed on the trade to preserve their young core, keeping the focus on rebuilding. While the team boasts promising talent, they still lack a true superstar they can rely on in multiple areas. Right now, much like Donovan, no one really knows how things will unfold.
