The Chicago Bulls have been struggling this season and are living towards the bottom of the NBA power rankings. They have a very little chance of making the Eastern Conference Play-In Tournament still, but are looking respectable. Chicago is looking towards the future, but where do they rank in the entire NBA? Let’s take a closer look at one outlet’s power rankings and where the Bulls are standing.
The Chicago Bulls hold firm at 21 in The Athletic’s power rankings

The Athletic’s Law Murray wrote the power rankings for the NBA heading into the new week of action. He placed Chicago as the 21st-ranked team in the league after a 1-2 week. Below is what he wrote about the Bulls:
“The Bulls aren’t good, but they’re fast. And teams have to play well to beat them. But because they are not good, those performances from opponents can be loud (see: Luka Dončić treating Matas Buzelis like a piñata). It’s a shame that Essengue’s season ended three months ago due to shoulder surgery, because he would be getting necessary playing time right now. Olbrich has played 24 games while on a two-way contract.”
The Bulls would play all three games last week on the road. They would win against the Golden State Warriors, but lost to the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers. This team is young and playing with an incredible pace. However, they are still 25th with a 112.3 offensive rate, meaning they are scoring at a lower rate than expected. The Bulls need to figure that portion out when playing at a quicker pace as they could be getting out on the fast break.
With the front office figuring out what they will do with some of the young talent on this roster in the offseason, it will be intriguing to see how the team plays out the remainder of the season. For the upcoming week, Chicago plays three games all at the United Center. They host the Memphis Grizzlies, Toronto Raptors, and Cleveland Cavaliers, so they can improve their rankings for next week.
