The Chicago Bulls are going to have a good amount of cap space heading into the offseason. As a result, they are able to be active in free agency to improve the roster. While not every free agent is going to be interested, there are some who they can attract. Let’s take a deeper dive into one player who Chicago could land this offseason if things go their way.
The Chicago Bulls could wind up signing Tari Eason as a free agent this offseason

The Bulls are in a position where they can use a versatile defender on the wing to help the team. Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley wrote an article highlighting realistic, optimistic, and dream free agent targets for each team. Chicago has an intriguing option at the ‘optimistic’ target in Houston Rockets forward Tari Eason. Below is what Buckley wrote about this:
“Since the unrestricted market can’t really give the Bulls what they want (or need), an aggressive approach to restricted free agency feels like the right mindset. Eason’s disruptive defense and versatility both feel like like possible culture-creators, and maybe the 24-year-old even has more offense than he’s been able to show in Houston.”
Eason is a restricted free agent this offseason, meaning the Rockets can match any offer the Bulls make for him. Eason has been able to hold his own this season as a 3-&-D player. In 48 games (32 starts), he is averaging 10.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.5 blocks, and 1.3 steals per game. Eason’s shooting stroke has also been doing well, despite recent struggles. He is posting a 41.5/37.1/73.5 shooting split this season heading into Monday’s game.
There are also likely to be other suitors for Eason, making this a bit more difficult for the Bulls. Eason has shown the ability to be a strong core player in Houston, so Chicago needs to prove that they are the best fit for him if they want to wind up signing him.
