A fake trade report claiming the Chicago Bears sent rookie tight end Colston Loveland to the Philadelphia Eagles caused a stir on Wednesday. The report alleged Loveland was traded for Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert and a 2026 second-round pick.
Loveland was the Bears’ 2025 first‑round pick at No. 10 overall. He struggled early, catching two passes for 12 yards in his first two games. The 21-year-old broke out in Week 9, scoring his first touchdown against the Cincinnati Bengals on a five-yard pass. He later caught a 58-yard game-winning touchdown, securing the Bears’ 47–42 victory.
Loveland eventually became a key contributor in Chicago’s offense. He ended the season with 58 catches for 713 yards and six touchdowns. The Idaho native helped Chicago win its first NFC North title since 2018 and first playoff victory since 2011.

Chicago Bears TE Colston Loveland trade report shocks Candace Parker
After his standout rookie season, Loveland earned the Bears’ Rookie of the Year award and established himself as a top NFL talent. Thus, the reported trade sparked disbelief from WNBA legend Candace Parker. The Chicago native is an outspoken supporter of the Bears.
The source of the trade news? Indiana Fever star Aliyah Boston. In the latest episode of their “Post Moves” podcast, Boston asked Parker her thoughts on the Bears trading their star tight end for Goedert.
The former Chicago Sky forward couldn’t believe it and said, “It’s not true. When did that happen? Are you kidding? No, it didn’t. This is like a bad joke you guys are playing.”
The Fever center continued convincing Parker it was true, claiming it happened “seven minutes ago.” Still in denial, the WNBA legend went into research mode, googling the news on her phone.
Parker appeared in distress as she searched for the truth about the Bears potentially losing Loveland. After a few seconds, she realized it was a joke and that she was being pranked.
“You’re full of [expletive],” the basketball icon exclaimed, making both hosts laugh. “I googled him, and then it said, ‘Saddened by news.’ And I was like, ‘But he’s talking about DJ Moore.’ So I was like, ‘There’s no way we traded Colson Loveland on a freaking rookie deal.’
“Okay, let the games begin. That’s all I’ll say. Let the games begin.”

It looks like the article Parker found when he searched for Loveland’s trade is “Colston Loveland saddened by Chicago Bears news.” The report discusses the Bears star’s reaction to the news of wide receiver DJ Moore being traded by Chicago.
Parker’s reaction made the prank even funnier. The joke resonated because she is deeply loyal to Chicago sports. Parker played two seasons with the Chicago Sky at the tail end of her career, helping the team secure its first franchise championship in 2021.
Boston’s comedic timing was also perfect, coming after a week of roster changes for the Bears.
The team recently traded Moore to the Buffalo Bills, raising concerns among fans that more trades could follow. Thankfully, Loveland’s spot on the roster is secure.
