After a breakout season, Chicago Bears running back D’Andre Swift aims to maintain his high-level performance with the team this upcoming season.
Swift joined the Bears in 2024 after signing a free-agent contract following previous stops with the Detroit Lions and the Philadelphia Eagles. Chicago added him to strengthen the offense and give the team a versatile playmaker who can run and catch passes effectively.
He struggled in his first season with the Bears, prompting speculation that the team might look for a new running back. However, the 26-year-old rebounded strongly, finishing the 2025 season with a career-high 1,386 yards from scrimmage.

Chicago Bears’ D’Andre Swift admits enjoying Kehlani’s music
Off the field, Swift admitted that he enjoys listening to Kehlani’s music personally. When asked in an interview which song he loves but cannot play in the locker room, the veteran back said, “Kehlani … ‘Folded’.”
The song, released in June, explores the complicated emotions of wanting an ex-lover back. Kehlani, a pop-R&B artist, often focuses on love, heartbreak, and self-reflection, which stand in sharp contrast to high-energy locker-room playlists.
NFL locker rooms typically play aggressive hip-hop or trap music to boost energy and build a collective, intense mindset before games.

While Kehlani’s songs are unlikely to become locker room anthems, Swift enjoys them and appreciates her artistry. His comments demonstrate that even professional athletes have diverse interests, musical tastes and personal preferences outside their sport.
Swift now enters the final year of his three-year contract, and this season could determine his future with the Bears. He must sustain or exceed last year’s performance to prove he deserves a role on the team.
Swift has expressed a desire to remain in Chicago. He said he hopes his performance and commitment to the organization will encourage the Bears to keep him beyond the 2026 season.
