Colston Loveland has been making waves long before he joined the Chicago Bears in 2025.

Before being selected as the 10th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Loveland had a tremendous collegiate career with the Michigan Wolverines. He played three years for Michigan, helping lead the squad to a national championship in 2023.

Loveland played 39 games across three seasons, registering 1,466 yards and 11 touchdowns on 117 catches. By the time he finished his junior year, the Gooding, Idaho native had firmly established himself as one of the top prospects heading into the draft.

Loveland carried over his momentum in the NFL. In his first season with the Bears, the 21-year-old finished with 713 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 58 catches.

Loveland’s alma mater was in action in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament on Sunday. The Wolverines took on the Tennessee Volunteers in the Elite Eight. The game was held at United Center in Chicago, and Loveland was not going to let the opportunity to cheer on the Wolverines pass.

Loveland’s decision to attend the Michigan-Tennessee game drew a lot of attention online.

“That’s my tight end right there,” said another.

“Get this man to Texas so he can cheer on the Michigan Women’s team too!” declared a user.

“Amazing seeing Loveland in Chicago! Wish he was supporting a better team tho 😒” another said.

“The best,” reacted a fan.

With Loveland in attendance, the Wolverines dominated the Volunteers, en route to a convincing 95-62 victory. Forward Yaxel Landeborg led the charge for Michigan, going off for 27 points, seven rebounds, four assists, a steal, two blocks and three triples in 25 minutes of action.

Michigan will now face the Arizona Wildcats on Saturday in the Final Four.
