The Chicago Bears are in a position where they can make an immediate impact on the franchise with the 2026 NFL Draft. They do not have much available cap space to make some noise in the remaining free agents, but they have a bevy of draft capital they can work with. Let’s take a look at what ESPN believes is one of their favorite fits for the Bears in the draft.
Zion Young to the Chicago Bears is one of ESPN’s favorite fits in the NFL Draft

ESPN’s Matt Bowen wrote an article where he discussed some of his favorite fits for draft prospects and NFL teams. The Bears wound up on this list with the team taking edge rusher Zion Young. Below is what Bowen said about this connection:
“After singing three defensive tackles in free agency, the Bears can look to the edges of their front by taking Young to play opposite Montez Sweat. With his long frame, Young fits the profile of the defensive ends in defensive coordinator Dennis Allen’s system. Young has the play strength and tackling range to set the edges versus the run game, which would upgrade a defense that allowed 5.0 yards per carry last season (fourth most in the NFL). Young also has the physical traits to develop as a speed-to-power pass rusher; he had 6.5 sacks and 43 pressures in 2025.”
After the defense was limited to 35 total sacks, making sure Chicago has the ability to put pressure on the quarterback and rush the opposing offense. The Bears would need to take him in the first round if they were to land him. He has been mocked in multiple drafts to head to the Windy City. It will be intriguing to see what Chicago does in the NFL Draft when they are on the clock.
