Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love is certainly proving his case that he’s the best running back available in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Love rushed for 1,372 yards and 18 touchdowns on 199 carries for the Fighting Irish last season. There was an argument to be made that he deserved the Heisman Trophy, but the award ultimately went to Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza.
During his three seasons at Notre Dame, Love carried the ball 433 times for 2,882 yards and 36 touchdowns. He entered the scouting combine in Indianapolis this week hoping to boost his draft stock.
On Saturday, he did just that.
Per the NFL’s Next Gen Stats, Love recorded the fastest time in the 40-yard dash among running backs with a 90+ NGS production score in the last 10 years with a time of 4.36.
“Jeremiyah Love recorded an official 4.36-second forty at this year’s Combine, the fastest time among RBs with a 90+ NGS production score over the last 10 years,” Next Gen Stats posted on X. “Love now holds a 94 overall score, tied with Sonny Styles for highest in this year’s class.”

Notre Dame’s Jeremiyah Love wants to do it all

More News: Notre Dame rejects bowl game to snub ESPN
Per ESPN, Love wanted to participate in the combine to showcase his skills, even though he really had nothing to gain and something to potentially lose by running.
Love believes he can be an asset in several areas for a running back-needy team.
“I can do it all, I can receive, I can block, I can run, you name it, and I’m going to do anything for any team to have success,” Love said. He added on his ability in pass protection and that “nobody has really beat me in blocking. I’ve pretty much dominate guys who’ve tried to rush me … I completely dominate in blocking.”
It’s a shame Love didn’t have the opportunity to showcase those skills for Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff. But some NFL team will be lucky to have Love on the field next season.
