The Chicago Bears have made key additions to their lineup. One of them is adding safety Coby Bryant via NFL free agency. The 26-year-old formerly played for the Super Bowl 60 champions, the Seattle Seahawks.
The Bears are building off their 11-6 record performance in the 2025 NFL Season. They aim to take it to the next level in 2026, following their first NFL playoff appearance in 15 years last season.
In Ben Johnson’s second year as head coach, the Bears would want to take it all the way to the Super Bowl. They have kept their core young, led by 24-year-old quarterback Caleb Williams.

Newly signed Chicago Bears safety Coby Bryant can’t wait to face former team
While admitting that he has yet to get to know Chicago, Bryant expressed excitement about donning the Bears uniform. Particularly against his former team, the Seahawks, a game he has already marked.
Bryant elaborated about this during his guesting on the “Up & Adams” show.
“We actually play Seattle this year, in Seattle,” he excitedly quipped. He sent out a message to the Seahawks, saying, “So they better be ready for me, for sure, so I’m going to be excited.”
He replied “either” to Kay Adams’ query if he wanted the meeting to be the kickoff game or later in the season.
“It is a meaningful game. Every game is a meaningful game,” Bryant admitted. “But I wouldn’t mind to start the season off out there, honestly. Weather would be nice, the whole world will be watching.”
The newly signed Bears safety also added that he is very motivated against his former team.
“Absolutely, I’m always motivated, honestly, and I know that Ben knows it too, and Caleb and the rest of those guys,” he said.
Do the right thing, NFL… Bears @ Seahawks HAS to be the 2026 season opener!
