As soon as the Chicago Bears’ defense begins to look healthy, it continues to go downhill. The Chicago Bears are now dealing with three very key injuries right before Week 12’s pivotal matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The team has now confirmed the game status of starting linebackers TJ Edwards, Tremaine Edmunds, and Noah Sewell. The Bears are going to be in a very deep hole against a good Steelers team.

The Bears confirmed via their injury report on X, that all three starting linebackers will not play on Sunday. Edwards has dealt with a broken hand and a lingering hamstring issue. Sewell is now out with an elbow injury as well.
The biggest blow is losing Edmunds. Edmunds is on the verge of a pro bowl caliber season and is tied with Bears cornerback Nashon Wright for the second most interceptions in the NFL.
This now leaves only DeMarco Jackson and rookie Ruben Hyppolite as the only options at linebacker for the Bears. There’s a chance that Amen Ogbongbemia might get meaningful reps as well.

It seems more likely that defensive coordinator Dennis Allen will run a lot of nickel defense to hopefully make it easier for the Bears’ defense.
Hopefully the Bears could get either Jaylon Johnson or Kyler Gordon able to play, which would be a major boost for the secondary at least.
