In order for the team to pull off their second win of the season against the Packers, the defense needs to stay in control and contain the explosive plays.
Specifically, the secondary was a major struggle in week 18’s loss over the eliminated Detroit Lions. It’s clear that the secondary needs an additional boost of help.
Thankfully, Dennis Allen seemed to pretty much confirm the return of his star nickel cornerback.

According to ESPN’s Courtney Cronin, Dennis Allen confirmed that Kyler Gordon will be be apart of the game plan going into Saturday’s historic showdown with the Packers.

The star slot corner was set to return in week 14 but he aggravated his injury during pregame warmups prior to the first game against the Packers.
Gordon has only played in three games this season due to his lower body injuries. However, the defense does better when he is on the field.
With CJ Gardner-Johnson going down with a concussion and the rest of the secondary playing bad football, Gordon will be an immediate boost to this defense at the perfect time.
If Gordon feels well at practice Wednesday and Thursday, it looks like the highest paid slot corner in the league will be back on the field this Saturday night.
