Chicago Bears safety Kevin Byard credits much of his success to the support system he has built at home. At the center of it stands his devoted wife, Clarke Byard.
The 10-year NFL veteran backed that up on the field in 2025, turning in one of the finest seasons of his career under coach Ben Johnson.
Byard finished the year with 93 combined tackles, eight pass deflections and a league-leading seven interceptions across 17 games. The three-time Pro Bowler also anchored a Bears defense that paced the NFL with 33 takeaways.
None of it, Byard insists, would have been possible without Clarke in his corner. This offseason, the Bears defensive anchor made sure the world knew it.

Byard has long credited his faith as the driving force behind his success on the football field. It is a conviction he carries into every aspect of his life, including his marriage.
On social media, Byard promoted Clarke’s recent appearance on the “Wife for Life” podcast hosted by relationship coach Michelle McElroy. There, Clarke offered a candid look at what life looks like as the wife of a professional NFL athlete.
Clarke also made his feelings on marriage clear in the post.
“A wife for life is fully committed to God and then her husband to serve her family as ministry,” she said. “I think that marriage is a way to serve God and it’s a way to minister — and I think it’s a way to change the world.”

Kevin and Clarke first cross paths as high school sweethearts in Atlanta, Georgia. They met in the 10th grade and never looked back.
The couple married in 2018 and together raise three children, daughter Eliana Rose and sons Kevin IV and Amari.
Off the field, the Byards back their faith with action. They co-founded the Byard Family Legacy Fund and established a Safe Room for children entering foster care.
Meanwhile, Byard heads into free agency as the Bears’ top defensive priority. Wherever he lands in 2026, Clarke will be right by his side.
