Chicago Sky star Angel Reese is known for giving her opinions on many subjects. More recently, she’s been in the news for using her platform on social media and her podcast “Unapologetically Angel” to advocate for higher pay for female athletes in the WNBA.

On Sunday, the second-year power forward for the Sky expressed her belief on another issue that is dear to her heart. Reese was known for praying before her games when she was an athlete at LSU, and she once again broached the topic of religion.

On Easter Sunday, she posted a message for Jesus.

“He (Jesus) is Risen,” Reese posted on X.. “Today like any other day is for you, Jesus Christ.”

She reposted a verse from Matthew in the bible.

“He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen.” Matthew 28:6

Per an interview with Sports Illustrated in 2023, Reese told Zack Nagy that she prays continually throughout the day.

“I pray before every game, so that’s my time to get my prayer together by myself,” Reese said. “I pray in the morning when I wake up. I pray — I read my demotion every morning, then I pray with Auntie Chanté on staff, then I pray by myself and then I get one more going up before the game.

“This year has been something that I’ve been a lot closer to God, and I think that’s why I’m here right now in this position. A year ago — it’s crazy how my life changed in a year. I was back home by this time. So just being able to be in this moment, like Alexis (Morris) said, God did.”

Reese will have plenty of games to pray before and during the 2025 campaign. The Sky have 40 regular season games, and will begin their schedule on May 17 against the Indiana Fever.
