Entering the NFL offseason, the Chicago Bears are going to be one of the most interesting teams to watch.
After years of being an afterthought, the Bears have a chance to be a legitimate Super Bowl contender in 2026. Ryan Poles has done an excellent job of building the team’s roster over the last couple of years. He’ll have a chance to continue doing so this offseason.
During the 2025 campaign, Chicago ended up winning the NFC North division. Not only did they win the division, the Bears also entered the playoffs as the No. 2 seed in the NFC. The sky is the limit for the team moving forward.
Led by rising star head coach Ben Johnson and quarterback Caleb Williams, Chicago has an incredibly bright future. However, there are clear needs that the team needs to address this offseason. One of those needs could be to improve the running back position to support Williams.
With that being said, the Bears have been connected to potentially making a move for a Super Bowl hero.
Chicago Bears Could Make Strong Move for Super Bowl Hero
Chicago Bears On SI analyst Jerry Markarian has urged the Bears to consider signing Seattle Seahawks impending free agent running back Kenneth Walker III this offseason if he becomes a free agent.
“Walker has already shown what he can do when the lights are at their brightest,” Markarian wrote. “He would be a worthwhile swing for the fences for a young team looking to cement its status as a certifiable contender.”
In the Super Bowl win over the New England Patriots, Walker led the way for the Seahawks and won the Super Bowl MVP award. He carried the football 27 times for 135 yards and also caught two passes for 26 yards. Walker will go down as a Super Bowl hero.
Throughout the course of the entire 2025 NFL season, Walker played in 17 games. He carried the football 221 times for 1,027 yards and five touchdowns. Walker would provide a different dynamic to the Chicago offense.
Expect to hear plenty of rumors about the Bears as the offseason heats up. Walker would make sense as a potential target, but it is unknown at this point in time whether Chicago will have interest in pursuing him if he hits the market.
