The Chicago Bears and first-year head coach Ben Johnson broke onto the scene during the 2025 NFL season as one of the top up-and-coming teams in football.
After entering the season expected to be a potential fringe playoff contender, the Bears far outshined those expectations. They ended up winning the NFC North division title and made the postseason as the No. 2 seed in the conference. That has raised expectations for next season.
Chicago is going to be expected to be a Super Bowl contender next year. Johnson and company will be facing a lot of pressure to live up to the hype.

Bleacher Report has ranked Chicago as the No. 7 team in the NFL in their new power rankings looking ahead to next season.
“The Bears are now a real contender after winning the NFC North, and they have the potential to get even better,” they wrote.
Behind Johnson’s leadership and the continued improvement and development from young franchise quarterback Caleb Williams, the sky is the limit for the Bears. Ryan Poles will look to put together another elite offseason like he has over the last couple of years. If he can add more talent, Chicago could win a championship.
While some fans may be reserving their excitement about the future, the Bears are legit. They are loaded with young talent that should take another step forward in 2026 and have mixed in a great group of veteran leaders. Adding more talent this offseason will give Chicago an even better chance at a Super Bowl run.
Expect to hear a lot of hype surrounding the Bears as the offseason gets underway. There were already a lot of reasons to be excited about the future in Chicago, but now Bears fans have been given another ranking that expects the team to be one of the best in the NFL.
