Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles may be about to lose one of his top lieutenants.
As tends to happen for successful organizations, the Bears are becoming a top target for teams looking to fill general manager, head coaching, and coordinator roles, hoping to capture some of what helped propel Chicago’s turnaround in 2025.
While Bears offensive coordinator Declan Doyle withdrew from consideration for the Philadelphia Eagles’ offensive coordinator vacancy, one of Chicago’s top front office executives is still garnering significant interest.
Chicago Bears’ Ian Cunningham set for second interview for Falcons GM job

According to a report from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Chicago Bears assistant general manager Ian Cunningham is slated for a second in-person interview with the Atlanta Falcons, for their general manager vacancy.
Cunningham, 40, is widely viewed as a rising star as an evaluator inside league circles, and arrived in Chicago in 2022 as Ples’ assistant general manager.
Prior to landing with the Bears, Cunningham spent five seasons climbing the ranks in the Philadelphia Eagles’ front office, rising from a director of college scouting in 2017 to becoming general manager Howie Roseman’s Director of Player Personnel in 2021.
If Cunningham were hired by the Falcons, he’d be working alongside former quarterback Matt Ryan, who was recently hired as Atlanta’s President of Football, with new head coach Kevin Stefanski already in place.
