The 2026 NFL Draft is quickly approaching, and the Chicago Bears are getting prepared for their selections. They hold the 25th pick in the draft and have some glaring needs as the team seems finished with signing free agents. With the board needing to fall their way, there is a dream situation for Chicago. Let’s take a closer look at how one outlet believes this would look like.

Landing Peter Woods would be the dream scenario for the Chicago Bears

Chicago Bears Peter Woods
Clemson defensive lineman Peter Woods (11) during the second quarter at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, S.C. Saturday, September 6, 2025.

Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report wrote an article describing every NFL team’s dream scenario for Round 1 of the NFL Draft. For Chicago, it is making sure a specific player is still not picked when they are up at 25. Below is the full snippet regarding the team:

“Enough teams to buy into the concerns that Peter Woods isn’t going to be a difference-maker that he’s still around when the Bears get on the clock at 25. Getting their pick between safeties Emmanuel McNeil-Warren and Dillon Thieneman would be dream-adjacent.”

The defensive tackle from the Clemson Tigers would be a welcome addition for the Bears. He has been taken by them in mock drafts throughout the offseason, but he fills a need in the interior of the defensive line. Over 35 games, he recorded 84 total tackles (41 solo, 43 assisted) with 14.5 tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks, one pass deflection, and a pair of forced fumbles. He has the ability to pair with Gervon Dexter Sr. or Grady Jarrett on the defensive line.

Improving the defensive line would be a massive boost for the Bears. They need to be able to win the battle of the trenches to add pressure. Adding Woods would significantly help overwhelm interior offensive linemen. The team added secondary help in free agency, so while it would help adding safeties, winning on the defensive line is more important with the current roster construction. It will be intriguing to see what the draft board looks like when Chicago is on the clock.

With the Chicago Bears needing wide receiver depth, could GM Ryan Poles look to improve the position with some of the speedy talent in the 2022 NFL Draft?

An easy argument can be made that the Chicago Bears do not have a speedy threat in their wide receiver group as the roster stands right now. Luckily for the Bears and GM Ryan Poles, wide receiver stands to be one of the deeper positions in the 2022 NFL Draft, featuring plenty of mid-round value – a perfect scenario for the team’s current draft picks.

While plenty of the focus this offseason has been on rebuilding the offensive and defensive lines, it’s only a matter of time until more attention is placed on getting quarterback Justin Fields more weapons beyond Darnell Mooney, Byron Pringle and Equanimeous St. Brown. Here’s a look at five potential speedy wide receivers, in what has been called the fastest class ever, that the Bears could grab in the draft.
