The Notre Dame Fighting Irish could definitely stand to add another wide receiver in the transfer portal this offseason, especially with top weapon Malachi Fields heading into the NFL Draft.
Well, the good news is that Notre Dame already seems to be getting busy on that front with the portal opening on Friday, as Steve Wiltfong of On 3 has reported that the Fighting Irish are one of the top two teams to watch for Michigan State transfer Nick Marsh.
Marsh is the second-ranked wide receiver in the transfer portal behind Auburn’s Cam Coleman, who was a late addition.
The 6-foot-3 playmaker spent the first two years of his collegiate career with the Spartans and immediately flashed tremendous potential right off the bat, catching 41 passes for 649 yards and three touchdowns during his freshman campaign.
Marsh then followed that up by hauling in 59 receptions for 662 yards and six scores.
Nick Marsh would be the perfect addition for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Notre Dame already has one of the top up and coming quarterbacks in the country in CJ Carr, who threw for 2,741 yards, 24 touchdowns and six interceptions during his redshirt freshman season in 2025.
Now imagine adding Marsh into the mix?
While Marsh’s numbers may not completely jump off the page, it’s important to keep in mind that he had been dealing with a pedestrian quarterback situation at Michigan State, as Aidan Chiles has been a major disappointment for the Spartans.
Marsh is probably a more gifted receiver than Fields, who put together a spectacular year alongside of Carr this season. So you can understand why the Fighting Irish are apparently heavily pursuing Marsh.
Notre Dame went 10-2 this season, ending its year with 10 straight wins. It did not make the College Football Playoff and subsequently declined to play in a bowl game, so the Fighting Irish’s entire focus is on 2026.
We’ll see if Notre Dame can bag Marsh to generate significant excitement in South Bend.
