The Notre Dame Fighting Irish missed out on the College Football Playoff last season in controversial fashion and decided to pass on playing in a bowl game. Unfortunately, that ended the college career of star running back Jeremiyah Love.
Love, who was one of the top Heisman Trophy candidates in the nation during the 2025 season, will take his talents into the 2026 NFL Draft. Many believe that he has a good chance to be a top-10 pick. At the very worst, he should be a top-20 pick.
With that being said, the NFL Draft is still over two months away. A lot of speculation has begun coming out about where Love could land to begin his professional career.
Keeping that in mind, Pro Football Network analyst T.J. Randall has made an exciting prediction for Love’s NFL future. He believes that the Notre Dame star will end up landing with the Kansas City Chiefs with the No. 9 overall pick.
“A reunion between the Chiefs and offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy is the cherry on top here that will seemingly maximize this pick. Bieniemy cut his coaching teeth as a running back’s coach, so dropping a creative back with short and long-range capabilities into this system sparks hope that the Chiefs can regain their offensive prowess.”
Jeremiyah Love teaming up with Patrick Mahomes?!

Should this prediction end up becoming a reality, Love would be teaming up with superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes to begin his career. That would be a dream scenario for a young running back.
Throughout the course of his college career with the Fighting Irish, Love played in three seasons. He racked up 433 total carries for 2,882 yards and 36 touchdowns, averaging an impressive 6.7 yards per carry. Love also caught 63 passes for 594 yards and another six touchdowns.
Looking into the future, Love is expected to develop into a star running back at the NFL level. Notre Dame fans will continue rooting him on in his next chapter, but will never forget the tenure that he had playing for the Fighting Irish.
