Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark has been a revelation for Team USA. She continues to dazzle at the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The 24-year-old is averaging 12.8 points and 6.3 assists across four games.
Clark has grown more comfortable with each outing, delivering her best performance yet against New Zealand. In her first start on Sunday, the two-time WNBA All-Star rewarded interim coach Nate Tibbetts’ trust with 14 points and six assists in 23 minutes of action.
Her stellar play has not gone unnoticed. FIBA has taken note of her impact at the tournament.

FIBA selected standout players from each participating nation as candidates for the tournament’s Most Valuable Player Award. The governing body released an online fan poll, announcing the nominees with a graphic on its official Instagram account.
“Insane level of talent here. Who’s been your San Juan MVP?” the caption read.

Clark’s devoted fans flooded the comment section. “CC leading Team USA in points, assists and +/- is the only correct answer,” one wrote.
Another kept it simple: “It’s CC with the best stats so that should be the MVP.”
Others were more direct. “Caitlin Elizabeth Clark!” a fan declared. “CC all day every day!” another added.
Some users also showed love for Clark’s Team USA teammates. “CC🙌❤️ PB🔥🙌❤️ but props to the whole team. ❤️RH as well,” one commenter wrote.
Another made the case for Paige Bueckers: “PB, all around most impactful and highest effort level on USA. Makes a difference in ways that don’t show up on any stat sheet as well.”
As of writing, Bueckers leads the fan vote with over 86,000 votes. The Dallas Wings guard has averaged 11.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists across four games.
Clark sits in second place with over 66,000 votes. The MVP will be announced following Team USA’s final group game against Spain on Tuesday.
