WNBA star Caitlin Clark showed up for Team USA in the recent FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying tournament. The Indiana Fever star averaged 11.6 points and 6.4 assists for the Stars and Stripes. On top of that, Clark shot efficiently, shooting 40% from the three and 52.9% from the field.

Clark is also the squad’s second-leading scorer and led Team USA in assists. The sharpshooting WNBA star also led the whole FIBA Qualifiers in assists, as well as being in the top five in scoring.

This is an incredible feat as she last played organized basketball in July of last year. It’s not easy to acclimate oneself back on the court after being sidelined by an injury for almost eight months.

Caitlin Clark takes center stage as FIBA MVP

Because of Clark’s stellar performance, she was named the FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifier’s MVP. This is her first MVP as part of the senior national team. She also won the MVP during the FIBA U-19 World Cup in 2021.

On top of that, Clark was also named as part of the FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifier All-Star Five. She is joined by fellow Team USA guard Kelsey Plum.

In an Instagram post by the official account of FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, they applauded the 24-year-old MVP.

The FIBA Women’s World Cup account shared a montage of her highlights along with a strong statement.

“Led the tournament in assists per game, helped USA 🇺🇸 to a perfect record ❤️‍🔥

“Caitlin Clark brings home her second TISSOT MVP with @usabasketball 🇺🇸” FIBA posted on Instagram

“MVP CC 🔥” said another.

“Let’s go, CC!!! 👏👏👏👏👏” a user wrote.

“Well deserved!! 🥇🥇” declared a supporter.

“This is FIBA to the Haters. That’s right,” a reaction read.

“Queen Caitlin Clark 22 MVP. ❤️” another said.

After an eventful offseason for Clark, she returns to Indiana with renewed passion. The Fever star will want to use the momentum to help her squad win the WNBA championship.
