The careers of Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark and Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese will forever be intertwined. It all began in college.

Reese’s LSU Tigers defeated Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes in the 2023 NCAA Championship game. She taunted Clark late in the contest and ignited a national firestorm that transcended basketball.

That storyline followed both stars into the pros. Clark went No. 1 overall to the Fever in the 2024 WNBA Draft while Reese landed at No. 7 with the Sky.

Now the two share the same uniform for Team USA at the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The jersey may be the same. The rivalry, however, continues to reach new heights.

WNBA: Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese both in the running for FIBA qualifying MVP

FIBA recently named standout players from each participating nation as candidates for the tournament’s Most Valuable Player Award. The winner will be announced following Team USA’s final group game against Spain on Tuesday.

FIBA shared the nominees on its official Instagram account with a fitting caption: “Insane level of talent here. Who’s been your San Juan MVP?”

As of writing, the top five vote-getters in the online poll all represent Team USA. Paige Bueckers leads the way, with Clark and Reese sitting close behind in second and third, respectively. Rhyne Howard and Jackie Young round out the top five.

It is no surprise that both Clark and Reese have drawn significant support. Clark has averaged 12.8 points and 6.3 assists across four games. Reese has contributed 7.5 points and a tournament-high 8.0 rebounds per game. Together, they have been key contributors to Team USA’s perfect 4-0 record.

Their rivalry, however, has not stayed dormant. Reese drew criticism for twice choosing not to pass to Clark on defensive rebounds during the Puerto Rico game. Clark, meanwhile, was caught on camera appearing to ignore Reese’s high-five attempt during the Senegal contest, drawing its own wave of fan reaction.

The MVP race adds yet another layer to the ongoing story between two of the WNBA’s most polarizing figures.

Angel Reese is currently heating up on and off the court, debuting a new colorway for her signature sneaker.  The WNBA star and Reebok dropped the “Angel Reese 1: Navy Halo” on Friday.

“The Angel Reese 1 ‘Navy Halo’ is built to inspire strength and confidence,” the Chicago Sky star said in an official statement. “The deep blue is strong and effortless—it’s that quiet confidence you carry when you know exactly who you are and what you bring to the game.”

As the name suggests, the AR1 Navy Halo boasts of a moody Vector Navy with a white exterior and accented with Peri Blue. Its release is part of Reebok’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection.

Angel Reese promotes Navy Halo in Australia; expands business portfolio Down Under

Reese continues to work with Reebok in debuting new colorways for AR1 with a visit to Australia. Reebok will be the official footwear partner for Australia’s Women’s National Basketball League in its 2027 season.

The WNBA star is part of a group that has bid for a 10th license in the WNBL. The bid would make her a part-owner of a franchise based in Brisbane.

After debuting the AR1’s first three colorways in September 2025, Reese dropped various other colorways based on her Maryland roots. Apart from reebok.com, the AR1 Navy Halo can also be purchased at Dick’s Sporting Goods retailers. The retail price is pegged at $130.

On the court, Reese continues to make waves as part of Team USA. She is competing in the FIBA World Cup qualifying tournament in Puerto Rico. Despite the media’s fixation on her rivalry with fellow WNBA star Caitlin Clark, Reese continues to contribute significantly to Team USA. In a recent 91-48 thrashing of Puerto Rico, Reese had another double-double of 10 points and 13 rebounds.

The two-time All-Star will once again serve as the centerpiece for coach Tyler Marsh’s squad, looking to bounce back from a 10-34 campaign. With Team USA already 2-0 in qualifying, Reese is making her presence felt well beyond the WNBA.

WNBA: Angel Reese delivers double-double as Team USA routs Puerto Rico, Sky reacts

Team USA made easy work of Puerto Rico, 91-48, at the Coliseum Jose Miguel Agrelot in San Juan on Thursday. Angel Reese came off the bench and delivered the only double-double of the game. The Sky star posted 10 points and 13 rebounds in 16 minutes, shooting 50 percent from the field while adding one steal and a block.

Team USA shared a graphic of Reese’s impressive stat line on social media.

“Double double on the big stage for Angel,” read Team USA’s statement.

The Sky wasted no time celebrating one of their own, reposting the image on their official Instagram Stories. Chicago had no words, choosing to simply share the post without any caption.

Paige Bueckers led all scorers with 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting. Kelsey Plum added 12 points while Caitlin Clark chipped in eight.

Reese’s performance keeps Team USA rolling toward a strong showing at the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup in Berlin this September. The Americans remain unbeaten through two games in the qualifying tournament.

The outing also extends a strong run of form for Reese. Prior to joining Team USA, she turned in a solid Unrivaled stint with Rose BC.

With Team USA set to face Italy on Saturday, Reese figures to be a key presence in the frontcourt once again.

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese is enjoying the offseason with plenty to be proud of.

The two-time WNBA All-Star put together a dominant sophomore campaign, averaging 14.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game.

She led the league in rebounds per game for the second straight year. The former seventh overall pick also became just the third player in WNBA history to average a double-double in her first two seasons.

Away from the WNBA, Reese is currently competing in Unrivaled for Rose BC.

While keeping busy on the court, she made sure to support her younger brother Julian Reese, who is carving out his own professional basketball career.

WNBA: Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese shows support for brother Julian’s first career start

Angel is not the only professional baller in the Reese household. Her brother Julian also suits up for the Washington Wizards in the NBA.

The Chicago Sky star had a proud sister moment Monday after her 22-year-old sibling earned his first career start. The Wizards posted a graphic on X announcing the starting lineup against the Houston Rockets, with Julian’s name front and center.

“First NBA start for Juju,” the Wizards wrote on X.

Angel shared the post, along with an emotional reaction. Reese had no words, opting for a holding-back-tears emoji.

Julian logged 28 minutes in the start, posting two points, four rebounds and three steals. Unfortunately, the Wizards fell 123-118 to the visiting Rockets at Capital One Arena.

The moment caps a remarkable rise for the former Maryland standout. After going undrafted in the 2025 NBA Draft, Julian signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Toronto Raptors. He then earned a two-way deal with Washington and its G League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go.

Angel could not hide her pride. With one sibling dominating the WNBA and the other breaking into the NBA, the Reese family is living out a dream that started in their Baltimore driveway.

Going to any Chicago Sky game was something very routine and simple. You checked the schedule, circled a date, and decided closer to game day whether you felt like going. There wasn’t much urgency in any of it.

Most of the time, tickets were there. Prices stayed more or less the same. Even bigger matchups didn’t create that sense of pressure, so you didn’t feel like you had to plan months ahead just to secure a seat.

That’s no longer the case in 2026 — seemingly low prices began skyrocketing, spots that looked affordable a day ago were suddenly out of reach the next morning. There are no official attempts or announcements to explain the shift, but the change keeps escalating and becomes too serious not to pay attention to.

This has nothing to do with the performance or standings. It’s about national attention and how it changes demand in ways that aren’t always obvious unless you actually start paying attention.

Angel Reese is the one getting a lot of that attention. Her visibility has altered how people engage with the Chicago Sky, both locally and beyond.

Who Angel Reese Is and Why She Became So Popular So Fast

To casual fans who don’t follow the WNBA really closely, Angel Reese can feel like a name that appeared out of nowhere all at once. In reality, that popularity is not a lucky break, but the result of momentum and hard work that has been building for years.

Reese joined the league already being recognizable, something only a few players can boast of at the start of their professional careers. During her college years, she managed to become a national figure across mainstream sports media and social platforms. It was not only how she played, but also the way she carried herself. Being confident, expressive, and fully aware of how things work these days drew lots of attention.

Even casual viewers notice Reese’s style on the court, which is physical and emotional. You don’t need to be a basketball expert, knowing defensive schemes or advanced metrics, to feel her presence in a game. Her game stands out because of big rebounds, fast reactions, and high-energy moments, making her play easy to follow and hard not to share.

Outside the arena, she perfectly understands how modern sports attention works. The interviews don’t disappear when the broadcast ends — they spread across social media. Postgame reactions exist on their own, sometimes not even connected to the game itself. Her personality successfully gives media something to talk about between matchups, keeping her — as well as the Sky — in the spotlight.

That combination works pretty well. It brings in people who haven’t bought any WNBA tickets before. Some may come because they recognize her name, others come because, at some point, those moments quietly made them invested. And just like that, they go online to check the tickets. That’s exactly how popularity transforms into demand.

The Changing Profile of a Sky Home Game

Many have noticed that Wintrust Arena feels different this year, and not only because of the scoreboard. Fans arrive earlier, lines form faster, the crowd noise builds sooner, and sustains itself longer. There’s been a clear shift in who’s in the building and what brings them there.

Previously, most visitors were local fans, those who followed the team always and lived close enough to attend from time to time. That core is still there, but it’s now sharing space with a growing number of out-of-town visitors. These are newcomers who discovered the Sky through media hype and decided a single game was sufficient reason to plan a trip around.

And, surprisingly, that change has real-life consequences for ticket pricing. If you have already booked flights or a hotel, the ticket price seems a minor issue, and you don’t really pay attention, right? When such fans compete with locals for the same seats, costs inflate naturally.

The atmosphere perfectly reflects all these shifts: you can now see more cameras, more journalists waiting for some extra moments. The game doesn’t feel routine anymore. It feels like something people don’t want to miss.

Changes like this don’t appear all of a sudden. Not overnight. They build slowly, almost quietly at first. The crowd gets louder. The moments feel bigger. And once more, people start paying attention, they start showing up.

Face Value vs Resale: Where the Gap Is Growing

If you want to get the idea more practically, look at the widening gap between face-value tickets and resale prices. There is no better indication of the increasing demand.

Although official ticket prices still exist within official prices, availability often disappears quickly for high-profile games. And if all spots are gone, fans have to resort to the resale market, where pricing reflects nothing but urgency. For example, the April 29 matchup against the Atlanta Dream lists entry prices starting at $39.70 on Ticketmaster, before fees — a baseline that can shift quickly once resale activity begins, especially closer to the game itself.

On different resale platforms, we can regularly see patterns that would have been rather odd just a few seasons ago. Upper-level seats artificially climb above face value for weekend games or matchups tied to recent media attention. Even lower-bowl sections can double in price when demand surges.

What’s the most surprising about it all is how quickly it happens. Waiting is no longer an option to get a better deal. In fact, you may end up paying even more. When the number of tickets shrinks, sellers have no reason to drop the prices, as there are buyers ready to pay just not to miss the moment.

This shift inevitably changes behavior. Fans who once waited until the last minute now feel pressure to buy early, even if they’re not fully sure yet. Waiting no longer pays off like it used to. Now, some fans plan ahead with savings, while others explore flexible loans for Sky tickets when high-demand matchups push prices beyond their perfectly arranged budget. It’s not something you can decide on the same day; it requires intention and planning.

The Hidden Costs of a “Big Game” Night

The ticket price is only the most obvious expense, and on big nights, the real cost starts expanding long before the game even begins.

Even getting there feels different with all that hustle around. In fact, the closer it gets to start, the tighter everything feels: parking spots get occupied faster, prices surge.

During the game itself, you don’t spend hundreds in one go, no. It just somehow happens. You buy some snacks here, a beer there, and now it’s $20. Then add here the merch table with that “essential” $140 hoodie or shirt you won’t ever wear. It always feels like something you need badly, telling yourself the purchase is justified, but the next day, it’s sitting on the top shelf of your closet.

For families or groups, the math is even worse. Whatever you buy for one person now, multiply it by three or even four people. What was originally considered a spontaneous weeknight outing now requires a bit of planning and budgeting.

How Fans Are Adjusting in 2026

Sky fans decided to adapt to the current market environment. Some now save for specific games, even though they once went whenever they felt like it. If previously they used to spread money across multiple nights, now people have to choose matchups that are really important and spectacular. Typically, these may be rivalry games, televised appearances, or some special weekends with friends.

Other fans may monitor the schedule and secure their spots right away, trying to lock in better prices before hype spikes the cost. Another option local fans practice is to buy memberships or ticket packages. They do make sense if you are planning to visit as many games as possible.

It may be surprising for someone, especially non-fans, but even with ticket prices going up, enthusiasm is the same. What changed is people’s awareness and attitude toward each arena visit. They clearly understand that Sky games operate in a different kind of market now, and adjusting their expectations is the best way to cope with all those changes.

The Price of Becoming Must-See

The Chicago Sky didn’t become more expensive and popular by accident. They only became more visible. Angel Reese’s presence boosted that visibility, but the consequences now reach far beyond any single player. The team has reached a new stage, where attention drives urgency, urgency drives demand, and demand reshapes pricing.

From the fans’ perspective, the experience is still worth the final price. A crowded Wintrust Arena feels even louder and more meaningful than ever. The energy carries through the building, and the moments last long after the game is over.

But attending those moments takes its toll apart from the actual money you pay. Now you have to be more intentional, as planning and timing matter.

Chicago Sky star Angel Reese has been keeping busy during the WNBA offseason.

The two-time All-Star has multiple endorsement deals going on, including a signature shoe with sportswear brand Reebok. On Friday, the former LSU Tigers star announced that the latest colorway of The Angel Reese 1 will drop on Feb. 13. The Rose Dust colorway of her signature shoe will hit shelves just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Reese has also been spending a lot of time with her rumored NBA boyfriend, Wendell Carter Jr. of the Orlando Magic. On Friday, Reese attended another Magic home game at Kia Center. The Sky star even flexed Carter’s big performance via social media as the Magic defeated the Toronto Raptors, 130-120.

Chicago Sky All-Star Angel Reese debuts new look

Despite Reese’s busy offseason schedule, the 23-year-old has made sure to take care of herself. Reese works out regularly and constantly shares gym selfies on Instagram.

On Saturday, Reese took to social media again to post a handful of photos. This time around, however, the 6-foot-3 forward debuted her new look. Reese is sporting a new hairdo, and she revealed the change in her physical appearance on Saturday night.

This is a significant change from the wavy hairdo Reese sported on Friday for the Magic game. However, this is far from the first time Reese has braided her hair.

Reese is coming off a memorable second season with the Sky. She led the league in rebounding for a second straight season with 12.6 boards per game. The Chicago superstar also averaged 14.7 points on 45.8% shooting, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals in 31.6 minutes per contest.

Reese’s strong play was not enough to lead the Sky to success, though. They missed the WNBA playoffs for a second straight year, finishing with a 10-34 record, which is tied for last place with the Dallas Wings.

Angel Reese’s second season with the Chicago Sky was impressive.

Despite Reese’s strong play, Chicago still finished with a 10-34 record. They ranked last among the 13 WNBA teams, tied with Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings.

It was Reese’s first season with head coach Tyler Marsh. The 38-year-old was named as the Sky’s head coach ahead of the 2025 season. He was the successor of WNBA Hall of Famer Teresa Weatherspoon, who was fired after just one year with the Sky.

Weatherspoon was Reese’s head coach when the latter first entered the league. The two-time WNBA Defensive Player of the Year played a pivotal role in Reese’s development as a rookie. The two form a closed bond during their one season together. So much so that Reese was devastated when she learned about Weatherspoon’s exit.

I’m heartbroken,” Reese posted on X in September 2024. “I’m literally lost for words knowing what this woman meant to me in such a pivotal point in my life. She was the only person that believed in me. The one that trusted me. Many don’t even know what it’s like to be a black women in sports when nobody believes in you.

“… I’ll never question God why he brings people in my life and takes them away from me in the capacity that I need them but i’ve always believed everyone is in your life for a reason and a season. You were the best reason & season. You didn’t deserve this but I can’t thank you enough. I love you Tspoon.”

Angel Reese reunites with former Chicago Sky coach Teresa Weatherspoon

Reese recently reunited with her former coach. Weatherspoon was Reese’s special guest in the latter’s podcast, “Unapologeitcally Angel.” The latest episode of the show dropped on Friday.

The two had a lengthy conversation that covered a variety of topics, including their time together in Chicago. They could not help but reminisce about better days.

Weatherspoon is currently the head coach of Vinyl Basketball Club in the Unrivaled league. The 60-year-old is coaching Vinly for a second straight season. They are looking to make amends after losing to Rose Basketball Club, Reese’s team, in last season’s inaugural Unrivaled championship.

Reese, however, opted out of the second season of Unrivaled this year. She reportedly wanted to focus on rehabbing her back injury, which forced her to sit out the last four games of the previous WNBA season.

In an unexpected move during the WNBA offseason, Reese decided to pull out of the second season of the Unrivaled 3-on-3 league. The former LSU Tigers star was one of the biggest draws of the league’s inaugural season in 2025, so her absence this year left more than a few people surprised.

Reese did not provide an official explanation for her career decision outside the WNBA. However, some reports have connected it to her back injury.

On Monday night, the Sky star took to social media to make an admission after some of her Unrivaled highlights resurfaced. Reese could not help but get emotional.

“ugh i kinda miss it 😢” she posted on X.

Unrivaled caught wind of Reese’s post, and the league responded with a five-word statement. “Forever the BIGGEST and BADDEST 🌹👑declared Unrivaled.

Reese is expected to be fully healthy for the start of the 2026 WNBA season. The league already announced the schedule for the upcoming campaign, and Reese should take center stage on opening night. Chicago will open its season with a road matchup on May 9. They will face the Portland Fire, one of two new expansion teams in 2026, on May 9.

Angel Reese is in the midst of a busy offseason after a memorable second year with the Chicago Sky. The 23-year-old was named a WNBA All-Star for the second straight season behind averages of 14.7 points, a league-best 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals in 31.6 minutes per game.

Apart from her other offseason commitments outside basketball, Reese has also been supporting the Orlando Magic over the past couple of months. Reese is rumored to be in a relationship with Magic big man Wendell Carter Jr. The Sky star supported the Magic during their recent tour overseas, attending both of their games in Berlin, Germany, and London, England.

Chicago Sky star Angel Reese has proud big-sister moment on Monday

Reese caught some basketball action again on Monday in Florida, but it was not for a Magic game. Instead, the former LSU Tigers star attended an NBA G League contest to support her brother, Julian Reese.

Julian Reese, 22, went undrafted this past summer but signed with the Los Angeles Lakers for the NBA Summer League. After being released by the Lakers, he signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Toronto Raptors. Since then, he has been suiting up for the Raptors 905 of the G League.

The Raptors 905 faced the Osecola Magic on Monday. Osecola hosted the game at Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, Florida. Angel Reese attended the game to cheer on her younger brother.

The Sky forward posted a photo of Julian Reese on Instagram, along with an emotional message.

“always a proud sister seeing you here🥹” she captioned her post.

Julian Reese, a 6-foot-9 forward who suited up for the Maryland Terrapins in college, logged 21 minutes in the game. He finished with 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting, nine rebounds, an assist, one steal and a block. Raptors 905 lost, though, 112-109.

The individual matchup between Chicago Sky star Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever is still widely considered the WNBA’s biggest rivalry. There was a shortage of action between the two big-name stars last season, though, with Clark missing a significant part of the season due to injury.

Clark played just 13 games in 2025. She faced off against Reese and the Sky just once out of the five Sky-Fever matchups last season. The former Iowa Hawkeyes star led Indiana to a 93-58 blowout win over Chicago in their season-opener on May 17. Clark was out for their next four meetings, but the Fever still swept the season series, 5-0.

Angel Reese, Chicago Sky face Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever three times in 2026

The WNBA recently released its 2026 season schedule. Unsurprisingly, there was a lot of attention on the Sky-Fever matchups. There was a significant difference in the number of games between the two sides, though. Reese and Clark will face off just three times this coming season, two fewer games than in 2025.

The Sky will host two out of the three games. Interestingly, only one of those matchups will be played at United Center, which has double the capacity (around 20,000) of the Sky’s usual home stadium, Wintrust Arena. Last season, both Sky-Fever matchups in Chicago were upgraded to United Center. For some reason, the team decided not to move one out of the two games this season.

The Aug. 8 matchup between Chicago and Indiana will be played at United Center. The rematch on Aug. 23, however, will take place at Wintrust Arena. It is unclear why the Sky made this decision.

A representative from the Fever issued a statement on the matter at hand.

“We can’t speak to what other teams may do in terms of venue changes,” a Fever spokesperson told Front Office Sports.

Apart from the Sky, a few other teams in the league also decided against moving their home games against the Fever to bigger arenas. This is despite the fact that the Fever generated some of the largest crowds for their games last season — both at home and on the road.

As the Fever’s statement said, however, they have no control over how opposing teams make their decision on game venues. Either way, Clark and Co. will come to town with the intention of securing a road win.

Despite Reese being named an All-Star for a second consecutive season, the Sky still struggled mightily throughout the campaign. They finished with a 10-34 record, tied with the Dallas Wings for the worst in the league.

Chicago’s biggest rivals, the Indiana Fever, had a much different fate in 2025. Caitlin Clark was limited to just 13 games due to multiple injuries, but the Fever still made it all the way to the semifinals. The Fever fell to the defending champions, the Las Vegas Aces, after a hard-fought five-game series.

Chicago Sky preparing for Angel Reese-Caitlin Clark showdown in 2026

On Wednesday, the WNBA announced the 2026 season schedule. One of the biggest highlights of the announcement centered on Reese and Clark renewing their rivalry in Year 3. The Sky and the Fever face off three times this coming season, which is two fewer than their five matchups in 2025.

The first showdown between Chicago and Indiana will be on June 11. The Fever will host the Commissioner’s Cup game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The next two matchups will be on Aug. 8 and Aug. 23, with the Sky hosting both games in Chicago.

The Sky made a big decision about the Aug. 8 showdown. Reese and Co. play their home games at Wintrust Arena, but the Sky decided to move that particular game to United Center. There is a lot of anticipation surrounding Reese and Clark’s first matchup in Chicago in 2026, and the team has responded by changing the venue. United Center has a capacity of over 20,000 for basketball games, which is double the capacity of Wintrust Arena.

The Sky have just two games scheduled at United Center in 2026. Apart from the Fever game on Aug. 8, Chicago will also host Aja Wilson and the Aces at United Center on June 28.

The Fever swept the season series against Chicago last season, 5-0. Reese and the rest of the Sky are eager to get some revenge.

Chicago Sky power forward Angel Reese gave a somber response to the fatal incident that occurred in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Saturday.

More News: Bears HC gives clue on potential DJ Moore trade

Per the Associated Press, Alex Jeffrey Pretti, 37, was shot and killed by a federal immigration officer, prompting immediate protests.

Via the AP:

“The officer who shot Pretti is an eight-year Border Patrol veteran, federal officials said.

“The Minnesota National Guard has been activated by Gov. Tim Walz and is assisting local police amid growing protests. Guard troops are going to both the shooting site and a federal building where officials have squared off with protesters daily.”

The incident on Saturday sparked more outrage in Minneapolis. Earlier this month, 37-year-old Renee Good was killed after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer shot and killed her in a vehicle.

On her X account, Reese posted a four-word message, saying she was praying for the United States.

“Praying for our country,” she posted.

More News: Bears accused of hiding DJ Moore’s injury after concussion evaluation

Reese has been outspoken about events outside of sports in the past. She criticized the country for voting President Donald Trump into office after the 2024 election.

“I’m so disappointed in America….Some of you just couldn’t selfishly put your pride aside huh??!?!?” she posted on X.

In a later post, she hoped to stay positive about the future of the country.

“God is the best author and the best finisher. I’m just going to pray on this & think positive,” she wrote.

On Saturday, it’s hard to think things are going in a positive direction domestically in the US, no matter what side of the political spectrum the reader might be.

Reese is set to enter her third year in the WNBA during the 2026 season. The Sky finished tied for the worst record in the league (10-34) with the Dallas Wings in 2025.

Reese led the team in points, averaging 14.7 points per game to go along with 12.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists.

Angel Reese and Caleb Williams are two of the biggest names in Chicago sports today. Reese is coming off another All-Star season with the Chicago Sky in her second WNBA season after leading the league in rebounds with 12.6 boards per game.

Williams, on the other hand, led the charge for the Chicago Bears in what turned out to be a memorable 2025 campaign. The Bears clinched the NFC North title for the first time since 2018 after finishing the regular season with an 11-6 record. Williams and Co. defeated their bitter rivals, the Green Bay Packers, in the wild card round of the NFL playoffs. However, they came up short in the divisional round against the Los Angeles Rams, 20-17.

Williams had another big year for the Bears in his second NFL season. He played all 17 games in the regular season, registering 330-of-568 completed passes (58.1%) for 3,942 yards, 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions. The No. 1 overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft also added 388 yards on the ground and three rushing touchdowns on 77 carries.

On Tuesday, Williams took to social media to send a parting message for the 2025 season. He also shared some of his favorite photos from Year 2.

“Through ups n downs, from holidays n disasters, to love n hate. Sometimes you fall, sometimes you get knocked down. First, “GOOD”! Second, get up. Third, prepare. Lastly, go again on the road to glory. -ICE,” Williams posted on Instagram.

Williams’ post drew a lot of attention on social media. Reese was one of the fans who jumped on Williams’ comments section. The Sky star responded with a strong statement on the 24-year-old quarterback.

“one of them onesssss,” Reese wrote.

Reese’s comment turned heads. It emerged as one of the most liked comments on Williams’ post. As of writing, Reese’s four-word remark has already amassed over a thousand likes.

Williams is clearly already looking forward to the 2026 season. The same is the case for Reese, who is hoping to bounce back after failing to lead the Sky to the playoffs for the second straight season. Reese is hoping for a much more successful run in Year 3.

Reese wasn’t able to lead the Sky to success, though. Despite the 6-foot-3 forward’s strong play, Chicago still finished with a 10-34 record. They tied Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings for the worst record in the entire WNBA. The Sky missed the playoffs for a second straight year.

Reese has been keeping busy amid the WNBA offseason. On Tuesday, the former LSU Tigers star’s latest career move was announced.

Angel Reese to co-star in first Netflix series

Reese recently made her film acting debut for the Netflix political thriller “A House of Dynamite,” alongside Idris Elba. The Sky forward will now co-star in her first Netflix series. It was announced on Tuesday that Reese will join the cast of “The Hunting Wives” for its second season.

“Bayou Barbie ➡ Chi Barbie ➡ Trainer Barbie. Angel Reese will co-star in The Hunting Wives Season 2!” the announcement read.

The WNBA caught wind of the post and reacted with a two-word statement on Reese’s career move.

“We’re ready 🤩” the league commented.

Much like the rest of Reese’s supporters, the WNBA is also looking forward to her small-screen debut.

“The Hunting Wives” was one of the biggest hits on Netflix last summer. The streaming platform renewed the series for a second season. It brought in a handful of new characters for Season 2, including Reese, who will play a role described as “Trainer Barbie.”

The series is about a woman who moves to a small Texas town and becomes involved with a mysterious group of wealthy women known as “Hunting Wives.” Reese will co-star alongside Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman, to name a few.

Netflix has not officially announced the release date of the series’ second season. However, the expectation is a late 2025 or early 2026 release.

The former Rookie of the Year was limited to 13 games in 2025 due to multiple injuries. The Fever shut her down for the second half of the campaign due to a lingering right groin injury.

Reese, on the other hand, had another big year for the Sky. She led the league in rebounds for a second straight year (12.6), along with 14.7 points on 45.8% shooting, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals in 31.6 minutes per game.

WNBA announces Angel Reese-Caitlin Clark Matchup for 2025 season

The WNBA made an important announcement on Wednesday. At the moment, the league is still negotiating a new Collective Bargaining Agreement with the players’ union. There has been a lot of back-and-forth between both sides as they fall apart over key issues in the new CBA, including players’ salaries and profit sharing.

However, despite extended talks between the WNBA and the union, the league still announced the 2026 season schedule. This is on the assumption that both parties will soon reach an agreement and that there will be no lockout.

The schedule announcement included the three matchups between the Sky and the Fever. Reese and Clark have the most attention-grabbing rivalry in the WNBA today, and fans now know the exact dates they will meet this coming season.

Chicago and Indiana will take the court on the following dates:

  • June 11 @ Indiana (Commissioner’s Cup)
  • Aug. 8 @ Chicago
  • Aug. 23 @ Chicago

The Sky and the Fever can potentially play each other more than three times in the 2026 season, depending on how the Commissioner’s Cup tournament and the WNBA playoffs shape up.

At this point, there’s less than five months left before Reese and Clark face off on the court again.

Reese has also been spending some quality time with her rumored boyfriend, Orlando Magic big man Wendell Carter Jr.

The Chicago Sky and star forward Angel Reese have had a bit of a rocky relationship since she was drafted. The two-time All-Star was the seventh pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft and joined the team as one of the most popular players. However, the relationship between player and franchise has been tumultuous to say the least. Let’s take a closer look at how Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky are feeling heading into the 2026 WNBA season.

While at Team USA’s training camp at Duke on Friday, Angel Reese gave a bit of an update about her WNBA future with the Chicago Sky.

“I’m under contract, so yes, I plan on returning to the Sky. (I’m) continuing to talk to (coach) Tyler (Marsh) and building that relationship with (general manager) Jeff (Pagliocca) and Tyler.”

Reese would struggle in her sophomore season compared to what she did as a rookie. She averaged 14.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.5 steals, and 0.7 blocks in 31.6 minutes per game. However, the shooting numbers failed to improve to numbers that are expected, as she posted a 45.8/18.2/75.6 shooting split as well.

Reese is one of four players who are under contract for next season at this point. However, the relationship between her and the team seemed to be at a turning point after some issues. In September, she publicly expressed her dissatisfaction with how the Chicago Sky has been. She cited the team being bereft of talent to be competitive and not having enough to attract significant free agents. She would apologize for the comments that hurt her teammates. As a result, the franchise would suspend her for half of a game for conduct detrimental to the team.

After the suspension, Reese would not play again and was listed with a back injury. She would reveal on Friday that she was “recovered at the end of the season, I was all good.” Reese has wanted to play with talented teammates and compete for championships. While the team has not gotten to that point, she appears willing to help them get to that point. It will be interesting to see if Reese and the Sky could repair this relationship or if it is too fractured to be fixed.

While Reese still has a lot of basketball left in her career, she isn’t shy from sharing future plans. That includes showing an interest in modeling.

And she’s racked up another endorsement deal in the process as The Athletic points out:

Reese, who has previously said she would love to model in addition to her athletic endeavors, announced her intent to enter the WNBA Draft with a Vogue photo shoot. She made headlines when she attended the 2024 Met Gala, then played in a Sky preseason game 24 hours later. She returned to the Met Gala in 2025, this time as a member of the host committee.

Juicy and Victoria’s Secret join a growing list of brands connected to the 2024 WNBA Draft’s No. 7 pick. Brands Reese has deals and collaborations with include: Reebok, Barbie, Topps, Beats by Dre, Tampax, Amazon, and PlayStation. In September, Reese joined co-founders Alex Morgan, Sue Bird, Simone Manuel, and Chloe Kim as members of the ownership group of the women’s sports media and content company TOGETHXR.

Reese continues to get involved in endeavors outside of basketball with this just being the latest case.

Angel Reese believes the front office let the Chicago Sky down this season. She has a demand before her third season in the WNBA.

The Sky have had a lackluster season, sitting at bottom place in the Eastern Conference with a 9-30 record. Only the Dallas Wings have a worse record, but that’s because they’ve played two more games than Chicago.

Per Julia Poe of the Chicago Tribune, Reese voiced her displeasure with the roster the front office put together in the offseason, accusing general manager Jeff Pagliocca of settling.

A non-negotiable for Angel Reese

“I’m not settling for the same (expletive) we did this year,” Reese said. “We have to get good players. We have to get great players. That’s a non-negotiable for me.

“I’m willing and wanting to play with the best. And however I can help to get the best here, that’s what I’m going to do this offseason. So it’s going to be very, very important this offseason to make sure we attract the best of the best because we can’t settle for what we have this year.”

The Chicago Sky’s plans did not work out in 2025

The Sky added veteran point guard Courtney Vandersloot and traded for two-time All-Star Ariel Atkins in the offseason. Vanersloot suffered a season-ending ACL injury in June. Reese has missed time this season with a back injury.

The injuries and limitations of a young team learning first-year head coach Tyler Marsh’s system have led to a poor product on the court. The record is an embarrassment to Reese, who has won a national championship at LSU and won a championship with Rose BC in the United league this year.

The Sky look like a team that is far away from being a contender despite Reese’s promising stats. She’s averaging 14.6 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game.

Reese doesn’t think Vandersloot, 36, will be the same player after her ACL injury. She wants someone younger to replace Vandersloot. She also wants the team to compete harder, like the Golden State Valkyries.

Reese threatened to go elsewhere

Reese suggested she’d leave Chicago if the team didn’t fill out the roster properly.

“I am very vocal about what we need and what I want,” Reese said. “I’d like to be here for my career, but if things don’t pan out, obviously I might have to move in a different direction and do what’s best for me. But while I am here, I’m going to try to stay open-minded about what I have here and maximize that as much as I can.”

Despite a rough start to the season filled with setbacks and major adjustments, the Chicago Sky are taking steps forward as a team.

With the All-Star break approaching, the Sky are currently 6-13, 10th in the WNBA standings out of 13 teams. Being led by a first-time head coach, Tyler Marsh, has presented its fair share of challenges in ensuring the pieces jell in a way that maximizes one of the young core pieces, Angel Reese.

Social Media backlash

Angel Reese faced major online criticism after a rough start to the season. As the critics were out in full force, they used the term “Mebounds” to describe and make fun of her rebounding style.

Reese’s early-season woes gave the critics credence. In the first seven games, Reese averaged 9.1 points, 12.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists to 3.7 turnovers, shooting inefficiently at 30.8% from the floor and 70% from the free-throw line on 4.2 per game while having a 22.1% usage rate.

In the postgame presser, Ariel Atkins addressed the unnecessary criticism Reese receives outside of basketball.

Founding rhythm in Tyler Marsh’s system

Instead of giving in to the critics, Angel Reese has blocked the noise, regained her confidence, and found her rhythm in Tyler Marsh’s system after a rough start to the season.

Here’s Angel Reese taking accountability on her early-season woes.

“I struggled in the first 8, 9 games…obviously it happens and I was very hard on myself…tough conversations with people who kept it real with me…I’m being a point guard, a four, a five…and guarding all five positions too. I trust my work…I have read conversations with Lisa, I talk to Spoon every single day.”

While getting acclimated in a new system with a new coach and early adjustments were needed, Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese has been playing her best basketball of the 2025 WNBA season in the recent stretch of games.

Over her last 12 games, Reese is averaging 15.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists to 3.5 turnovers, and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 48.1% from the floor and 82.8% from the free-throw line on 5.3 attempts per game.

This includes her first career triple-double in a win over the Connecticut Suns and her best performance of the season —posting a stat-line of 24 points (on 10/19 shooting from the floor), 16 rebounds, seven assists, and three stocks, in a win over the Los Angeles Sparks.

Additionally, Marsh dove deeper into Reese’s impact on the team, seamlessly stepping into her role.

“Angel was incredible tonight. Obviously missing KC, she had to do a little bit more. You can’t say enough. It’s little things she does as well that don’t get the notice,” said Marsh.”She’s found a way which speaks to her maturity growing into this position and system.”

How Angel Reese is being unlocked

Tyler Marsh has made it an emphasis to unlock Angel Reese’s game by expanding her offensive skillset and placing more responsibility

Here’s how Marsh’s system is elevating Reese’s growth and development:

More focus on Versatility: Marsh is pushing Reese to expand her offensive game by taking more mid-range shots, extending her range to the 3-point line, improving catch-and-shoot, and creating more off the dribble.

Developing as a Facilitator: Since Courtney Vandersloot unfortunately went down with a season-ending torn ACL.

Marsh has utilized Reese more as a point forward, allowing her to initiate offense and be more of a facilitator. By operating from the high post, elbow, and on the perimeter, she has created more opportunities for both herself and her teammates.

Playing with Space & Pace: The most significant scheme shifts and what Marsh’s system aims to be—creating spacing on the court, which allows Reese to drive and operate both in the post and on the perimeter, which allows her to create for both herself and her teammates.

Making History

Spinning back to blocking out the noise and having the mental fortitude to overcome the harshness of social media and early-season woes in a new system with a new coach is a special trait in itself.

Perfect example, instead of being affected by the “Mebounds” term, Reese embraced the online criticism and turned it into a trademark for her brand.

Through this recent stretch, Reese made history by recording six consecutive games of 15+ rebounds, surpassing her previous record of five straight games with 15+ rebounds.

Reese also joined A’ja Wilson, Jonquel Jones, and Lisa Leslie as the only players to post three consecutive games with at least 15 points and 15 rebounds. All are MVP winners.

Seeing Reese facing all the adversity and criticism head-on and overcoming it by being rewarded with officially being an All-Star for the second consecutive season shows the testament of her character

Now, to cap it off with being on the cover NBA2K26 for the WNBA Edition and launching her first signature shoe—the Angel Reese 1s. Like or Dislike Angel Reese, you can’t deny her work ethic.

With 29.9 seconds remaining and the Sky tied 79-79, Reese was seen slapping the clipboard out of an assistant coach’s hand. The context of Reese’s behavior was not known at the time, but the second-year WNBA player has been frustrated with league referees in recent days.

Following the game, Reese went on social media to clear up what happened. She used stars to block out the word, but appeared to claim the refs were upsetting her, and said her coach would not let her apologize for the incident.

“Those **** were pissing me off shoutout to Ann because she know it was the heat of the moment and she didn’t let me apologize because she knew! Not happening again tho,” Reese posted on X.

Reese did get the free-throw line more in Tuesday’s contest. She went 12-of-15 on free throw attempts. Chicago had 25 free throw attempts to the Mystics’ 31.

The Sky dont’t have much time to feel sorry about their two-game losing streak. Chicago will host the Mystics on Thursday.

The Sky won two out of their final three games in June but are winless in July and are tied with the Wings for the league’s second-worst record. They have a three-game lead on the WNBA’s worst Connecticut Sun.

Angel Reese couldn’t hide her frustration following the Chicago Sky‘s 80-75 loss to the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday night in front of 8,810 fans at Target Center. The Sky entered the contest with some momentum, winning two of their final three games to end June.

Chicago was shorthanded against Minnesota, with Courtney Vandersloot out for the season with an ACL injury. The Sky have been without second-year center Kamilla Cardoso, who has not played with the Sky since June 24, as she joined Brazil for the FIBA AmeriCup.

A big miss for the Chicago Sky

Cardoso earned silver as Brazil lost 92-84 to the United States on Sunday night in the championship round of the tournament.

Per the Chicago Sun-Times, the Sky were unsure this weekend whether Cardoso would join the team for their contest on the road against the Washington Mystics on Tuesday or in Chicago on Wednesday when they face the Dallas Wings.

Cardoso’s absence has been hard on the Sky, and she might have made the difference in a five-point loss to a 17-2 Lynx team.

Angel Reese: We did the best with “what we had”

Following the game, Reese told reporters that she was frustrated with the WNBA referees while she and the team were doing the best they could with “what we had,” seeming to refer to the absence of Vandersloot and Cardoso, two starters for Chicago.

“It’s tough when you talk to officials and I ask them, ‘Hey, (why) we only shot two free throws. We only missed a free throw…’ She tells me it’s not her job,” Reese told the media during her press conference. “So I know it’s frustrating, because I know how hard we’re battling inside, and I think that we came down and fought as hard as we could with what we had.

“And I just want, I just know we continue to grow in this. And I think it’s a leaping step for us, and obviously we know obviously we know we can compete with the best, but that has to be fixed, and I don’t give a (expletive) if I get a fine, because that (expletive) cheap. And I am tired of the shit because I’ve been nice and I’ve been humble with it, but I am tired of the (expletive).”

During the FIBA AmeriCup, Reese has posted positive messages for her Sky teammate. Still, it’s understandable to feel frustrated by not having Cardoso on the floor during WNBA games.

Reese, now a two-time All-Star, fought hard against Minnesota. She finished with 16 points, 17 rebounds, and six assists, finishing at a plus-2 on the court.

Cardoso is averaging 12.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game this season. Her replacement, Elizabeth Williams, finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, and two assists. She was a minus-four on the court.

Per a post by the WNBA, the league gave Reese her first Eastern Conference Player of the Week award in 2025 for her efforts at the end of June.

“Angel Reese captures her first Player of the Week award in the 2025 season,” the WNBA posted on X.  “She put up incredible numbers, 19.7 PPG, 17.0 RPG, 5 APG, 2 SPG, guiding the @chicagosky to a solid 2-1 week!”

Reese had a monster performance in the Sky’s 92-85 win over the LA Sparks on Sunday in front of 13,523 fans at crypto.com Arena. She scored 24 points and recorded 16 rebounds, prompting some fans to question if she was catching Caitlin Clark, as the Indiana Fever star has struggled shooting amid her groin injury.

Following news that earned the POTW award, Reese posted a message invoking God for helping her through the early-season difficulties.

“God will never give me a storm I can’t handle,” Reese posted.

For the season, Reese is averaging 12.4 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.8 steals per contest and is a minus-9.6 on the court.
