Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has taken the WNBA by storm since her arrival in 2024. Clark averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists in her debut season. On top of that, she was already named a WNBA All-Star as a rookie.

To top it all off, she was named the WNBA Rookie of the Year. Clark was also included in the MVP race in her first year in the league, which makes her more impressive.

Unfortunately, she had a tumultuous season in 2025. Clark played in only 13 games in 2025 due to multiple recurring injuries. Despite that, she was still named an All-Star for a second consecutive season.

WNBA Shows Love to Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark

Despite Clark’s disappointing 2025 season, the Fever still won the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup. However, they fell short of the WNBA championship, losing to the Las Vegas Aces in the semifinals.

Clark has established herself as a basketball legend. She rose to fame during her NCAA career with the Iowa Hawkeyes. In her four-year collegiate career, Clark set the all-time NCAA Division I scoring record among men and women. She scored 3,685 career points, surpassing “Pistol” Pete Maravich’s 3,667 points.

The Fever then celebrated the second anniversary of her achievement in an Instagram post. Indiana shared a picture of young Clark, along with a message.

“This is who 🥹

“Two years ago today, @caitlinclark22 rewrote the record books and broke Pete Maravich’s 54-year-old record to become the @ncaa all-time leading scorer.”

The WNBA could not help but react to the Fever’s statement on their cornerstone superstar. The league’s official Instagram account left a brief comment.

“Baby CC 🥹👏” reacted the WNBA.

What captured the attention of the league was the Fever’s decision to use a photo of Clark as a kid. At that time, not too many people predicted that the little girl would go on to revolutionize the sport of women’s basketball altogether.

Clark surely made a mark in basketball history, as Maravich’s record had remained untouched for 54 years. Her college basketball career made her an easy choice to be the top overall pick of the 2024 WNBA draft.

WNBA and Fever fans are excited to see the electric second-year guard back on the court. Once she returns, Clark will push Indiana as they look to win the franchise’s second WNBA championship.

As for Clark, she is focusing on recovery this offseason as she looks to come back strong for her third WNBA season.
