Hudson was claimed off waivers from the New York Mets on Friday and appeared in four games (5.79 ERA) for the White Sox last season.
Hudson will offer manager Will Venable a fresh arm from the left side after he used two out of his three lefties yesterday. Left-hander Chris Murphy did not pitch, while left-hander Sean Newcomb will be down after pitching 2.1 innings (33 pitches).
The White Sox bullpen needs to limit the walks

The White Sox bullpen needs to be more effective in Game 2. Right-hander Jordan Leasure was the only successful arm used on Thursday. Leasure didn’t allow an earned run or a hit in his one inning of work.
The rest of the bullpen combined to allow 10 earned runs on nine hits and gave up two home runs. The bullpen also allowed too many walks, seven, with right-hander Jordan Hicks having four of them.
Limiting walks needs to be a focal point for the bullpen moving forward, as walks are a death knell for relievers.
