The Chicago White Sox had some players perform well, but ultimately were swept in the first series of the season. The Chicago White Sox drop to 30th in Bleacher Report’s recent power rankings
After being swept by the Milwaukee Brewers, the White Sox are looking like it could be a long season. Joel Reuter of Bleacher Report wrote the first power rankings of the 2026 regular season. Look away White Sox fans as he has dropped them from 27th to dead last. Below is what he wrote about the team’s first three games of the season:
“The White Sox were outscored by 19 runs in three games against the Brewers, but hyped slugger Munetaka Murakami at least made a memorable first impression, homering in each of his first three games in a White Sox uniform.”
Through the opening weekend of games, the team is 13th in the bigs with a .729 OPS. However, the pitching has been brutal as they have a 10.13 team ERA, more than three runs higher than any other pitching staff. There was a lack of command, with a 22:24 walk-to-strikeout ratio over the first three games of the 2026 season.
Chicago has some quality offensive pieces, but the pitching is going to be a massive issue for the team. The White Sox are on the road to take on the Miami Marlins for three games before opening their home schedule with three games agianst the Toronto Blue Jays. It will be intriguing to see how the team does over the next week.
