Chicago Cubs youngest 2026 non-roster invitee Jefferson Rojas is turning heads early in camp

At just 20 years old, Jefferson Rojas is the youngest of non-roster invitees this spring, with Long next at 24. Despite the age gap, Rojas has already made a strong impression. In only eight at-bats, half of his balls in play have registered exit velocities over 100 mph, and he’s collected three hits, including a home run.

Rojas, who originally signed during the 2022 international signing period, is currently ranked as the Cubs’ No. 3 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline. He advanced to Double-A last season, appearing in 39 games while being one of the youngest players at that level. While he will likely start there again in 2026, although a strong campaign could earn him a promotion to Triple-A and put him on track for a potential big-league debut in 2027.
